Deputies say man
was set off over sex
BRADENTON -- Authorities say a 20-year-old man hit his girlfriend when she refused to have sex with him Monday morning, then went to a nearby house armed with a machete and stole speaker equipment.
According to a Manatee County Sheriff's report:
Adam D. Arling, 20, of the 6000 block of 12th Avenue West, was arrested Monday night on charges of battery, armed burglary with assault, and obstruction without violence.
Monday afternoon, Arling tried to convince his girlfriend to have sex and struck her several times in the chest and face when she would not. About 90 minutes later, Arling woke the residents of a home in the 4500 block of 20th Street West by pounding on the front door and threatening them. Arling then entered the home's storage closet, stole speakers and a speaker box and left.
Another man, Robert J. Cooper, 22, of Bradenton, was arrested on a charge of burglary. Authorities say he assisted Arling in the theft of the speaker equipment.

Carjacking charge
added for jailed man
BRADENTON -- A man already in jail on felony charges was arrested Tuesday on unrelated charges of armed carjacking from 2007.
According to a Manatee County Sheriff's report:
Jeremy L. Clark, 28, of the 6900 block of Lily Way, was identified by fingerprints on a stolen car. In April 2007, a man, who authorities say was Clark, ordered the owner of a car to the ground at gunpoint and threatened to kill him if he followed him or called 911.
Authorities say Clark was armed with a semiautomatic handgun and startled the man when he came home to his residence in the 1700 block of Roslyn Avenue in Bradenton.
The vehicle was found a few weeks later and fingerprints were recovered.
Clark has been in the Manatee County Jail on charges of burglary and grand theft since May 10, 2007.
